Course Overview
As new technologies such as blade servers and high performance networks stretch the capacity of power, cooling and connectivity – management practices have to evolve. Increased reliance on IT by organisations means that security, availability and recovery capability must be improved as the complexity increases. The effective management of data centres requires understanding of technical design limitations, management processes and applying the appropriate best practice.
This one day course gives an introduction to best practice for managing modern data centres which have been designed and built to TIA-942.
Ensuring the facility continues to deliver the environment and the control of mission critical computing is not easy. This course willhelp guide you through the Data Centre minefield.
The course covers the elements that should be incorporated into the management practices covering Data Centres. The course also identifies existing management frameworks and best practices such as ITIL, ISO20000, ISO 20007 and how they affect data centre management.
Using case studies and exercises, the course will make students aware of data centre management issues, methods and give detailed guidance.
